Description
This module provides an overview of behavioral interventions for treating substance use disorder. Learners will examine the trans-therapeutic factors associated with positive intervention outcomes, the various psychosocial treatment approaching and models as they relate to reducing rates of substance use, co-occurring disorders, and supporting MAT. The importance of the role of the provider in maintaining motivation during treatment will be discussed as well as strategies to engage family and other support networks during treatment.
Module Objectives
After completing this module you will be able to:
- Understand trans-therapeutic factors associated with positive intervention outcomes, including therapeutic alliance and stigma reduction.
- Discuss various psychosocial treatment approaches and models and how they relate to successfully reducing rates of substance use, managing co-occurring disorders, and supporting MAT.
- Identify the importance of the role of the provider in maintaining motivation during treatment.
- Comprehend strategies to engage family and other support networks.
