Description

This module provides an overview of infectious diseases as they relate to substance use disorders (SUD). You will then examine the consequences of common infectious diseases, the epidemiologic and pathophysiologic factors and finally the clinical presentations and management of infectious diseases in patients with SUD.

Module Objectives

After completing this module you will be able to:

1. Identify the consequences of common infectious diseases as they relate to substance use disorders.
2. Discuss the epidemiologic and pathophysiologic factors associated with infectious diseases and substance use disorders.
3. Explain the clinical presentations and management of infectious diseases in patients with substance use disorders.
