Description

This module provides an overview of the unique characteristics of the veteran population as it relates to substance use disorders (SUD). You will then examine the epidemiology and prevalence of SUD in veterans, treatment options in the Veteran Health Administration (VHA) and resources, specific for veterans.

Module Objectives

1. Describe the characteristics unique to Veteran population and the varying components of the VA.
2. Explain the epidemiology and prevalence of SUD in Veterans.
3. Discuss the various SUD treatment options available through the Veteran Health Administration (VHA).
4. Identify relevant SUD resources for both providers and Veterans.
